Description

The AKG Project Studio P820 Dual Capsule Tube Microphone is currently retailing at GBP 435 and it is out of stock. Available to be delivered to you by post direct (some charge may apply). The team at Mic Pro think that AKG nailed it with the AKG Project Studio P820 Dual Capsule Tube Microphone.

You’ll love this if you’re a producer who wants a versatile real tube microphone that won’t break the bank. Tube microphones have a unique sound that can not be achieved without using real valves. They have a much rounder almost compressed sound with a smoother high end when compared to solid state microphones. You can now get this unique sound without having to shell out a lot of money with the AKG P820.

True Valve Sound

Nothing beats the sound of a true valve microphone. From the rounded off high end to the almost compression like smoothness this type of sound can only be made one way.

You would most commonly use a microphone like this on higher pitched vocals, but there is no reason you couldn’t use it on an acoustic guitar or as a room mic when recording drums.

9 Polar Patterns

Most tube microphones are suited to a free key applications but not this AKG P820. You get 9 different polar patterns that go from omni directional through cardioid and into a figure of 8 patterns with everything in between.

With these you can really dial in the exact pattern needed for the job. Need a cardioid with a little more of the room sound? No problem! Want a figure of 8 where the front is slightly stronger? This mic has it!

Here’s what AKG say about the P820 Tube Microphone

The P820 Tube high-performance multi-pattern tube microphone is an excellent tool for highlighting lead vocals, brass instruments, electric guitars and drums. With its dual one-inch diaphragm capsule and the advanced ECC83 dual-triode circuitry, the P820 Tube delivers real tube sound and raises the bar in its class of affordable tube microphones.
