Performing well across the whole 20Hz-20kHz spectrum the VR series comes in 2 distinct flavours. The VR1 is a Passive Ribbon mic that's great for getting bite and edge from miking electric sources like guitar cabs. This however is the VR2, an Active ribbon mic that's great for getting all the detail in acoustic instrument performances like violins, acoustic guitars and vocals.

With the Voodoo mics, The full frequency response is achieved using a clever mechanical device designed by Siwei Zou, the company CEO of SE Electronics, and a hand-tensioned ribbon.
