Performing well across the whole 20Hz-20kHz spectrum, the VR series comes in 2 distinct flavours. The VR1 is a passive ribbon mic that’s great for getting bite and edge from electric sources like guitar cabs. This however is the VR2, an active ribbon mic that’s great for getting all the detail in acoustic instrument performances. Its brilliant for capturing the nuances and detail of violins, acoustic guitars and vocals.
With the Voodoo mics, The full frequency response is achieved using a clever mechanical device designed by Siwei Zou, the company CEO of sE Electronics, and a hand-tensioned ribbon. As a result, you get a rich, detailed and open sound that is perfect for capturing the defining character of acoustic instruments and a singer’s unique performance inflections.
