The SD-1 not only excels when used to record speech and vocals, it's also excellent for high sound pressure level sources such as drums, percussion and brass. The dynamic capsule and cardioid polar pattern are ideal for situations when isolation and off-axis rejection is required and the built-in windscreen helps to rein in plosives and breath noise.
