Description

The Lambden Audio PMP1 Portable Microphone Pre is suited to portable recording with dynamic ribbon and condenser microphones. Its two gain settings provide either 12dB or 25dB of amplification helping you raise microphone signals before sending them to an audio interface. An adjustable 150 Ω – 15 kΩ input impedance control lets you optimise performance for your connected microphone while switchable 48V phantom power supports condenser models alongside passive ribbon and dynamic mics. A 75Hz high-pass filter gives you additional control over low-frequency content. And because the PMP1 runs from an internal 3.7V 1200mAh battery you arent tied to mains power during use. USB Type-C charging works with compatible chargers power banks and computer USB ports with dedicated indicators keeping you informed of battery power and phantom power status.

Microphone Preamps

Microphone preamps raise a low-level microphone signal to a usable line or converter level while adding gain, headroom and the character of the input stage. Compare available gain, equivalent input noise, input impedance, phantom power, pad, polarity or phase, metering, transformer or valve stages and any built-in EQ or compression. The catalogue includes standalone, rack, 500-series and multi-channel designs, so confirm the format and connections before purchase. A preamp should match the microphone’s output and the rest of the recording chain without adding unnecessary noise or gain stages.
