Description

The M30 is not just any old mic; it's an omni measurement mic. It offers a serious level of accuracy in both frequency response and the time domain. It manages to remain stable even during changes in atmosphere and temperature conditions. Add in an extremely quick impulse performance (granting precise wide-band response) and low handling noise, and you've got yourself an excellent piece of engineering.

Unrivalled Utilities

A flat frequency response ensures that the omnidirectional polar pattern can remain incredibly consistent. An 140dB SPL rating ensures it can operate without any distortion too. A linear phase response and speedy impulse response make the mic work well with audio system measurement applications like SIM, SMART, REW etc. You can even use it for loudspeaker design and the aligning of your PA system.

Meticulous Design & Build Process

Before finding its way to you, every M30 is tested and tuned by hand; it will also come with a dedicated frequency response chart that's unique to the microphone.

Features

  • The mic should be recalibrated every five years if possible.
  • 30kHz frequency response.

Brand

Earthworks Audio

Earthworks Audio is represented in the current MicPro catalogue by M30 and M23 measurement microphones, SR314 vocal microphone and SV33 cardioid condenser. The listed range is relevant to measurement, vocal and detailed instrument capture. When comparing these products, check measurement versus performance use, pattern, calibration, sensitivity, phantom power, mounting and source placement. The range covers precise analysis as well as studio and live vocals, so the model’s intended role should guide the choice. This description is kept catalogue-led, so the individual model listing remains the source for exact specifications, compatibility and included accessories.

Category

Microphones

Microphones convert acoustic sound into an electrical signal for recording, live sound, broadcast, streaming or measurement. This broad category includes dynamic, condenser, ribbon, USB, wireless, boundary, shotgun and instrument-focused designs, each balancing sensitivity, detail, rejection and handling. Compare the source, room, pickup pattern, maximum level, connector, phantom or battery requirements and mounting options before choosing. The most useful microphone is the one that fits the voice or instrument, working distance and signal chain; a prestigious brand or familiar category label cannot replace those practical checks.

Microphone

Microphone identifies a product whose primary role is acoustic capture. Compare capsule type, pickup pattern, output, power, mounting and the source or room it will serve.

Omnidirectional

Omnidirectional describes pickup from all directions, useful for some lavalier, measurement, room and boundary applications. Placement, nearby noise and reflections still shape the recording.
