Lavalier microphones are compact clip-on microphones intended for speech, presentations, video, theatre, broadcast and wireless systems. Omnidirectional designs are common for consistent voice capture, while directional versions can help manage nearby noise when they are positioned correctly. Check the connector, bias or plug-in power, transmitter compatibility, cable length, mounting clip and resistance to clothing rustle. Placement near the chest or neckline changes tone and handling noise, so the best choice depends on the speaker, wardrobe, wireless pack and intended distance from the camera or audience.
