The E602 is a cardioid microphone especially suitable for use with bass drums, bass guitar cabs, tubas and other low frequency instruments. Lightweight yet rugged the e602 is a workhorse mic for the lower frequency dominated instruments and is equally great for low percussion due to its fast transient response. Now in its second generation, the E602 MK2 is now 40% lighter than its predecessor, allowing you to mount the mic onto the end of a long boom arm without drooping.
The E602 features a hum compensating coil and frequency independent directivity, giving a clean and isolated signal in tough live environments. The capsule is shock mounted and offers a fast attack with an extended low frequency response. The result is a mic that gives a kick drum plenty of punch and a bass guitar a warm smooth and articulate tone.
Features:
- Dynamic instrument microphone with cardioid polar pattern
- Rugged, lightweight aluminium body
- Lightweight high-performance voice coil construction
- Fast transient response

Drum
A drum microphone is specifically designed to capture the sound of drums and other percussion instruments with clarity and precision. These microphones are built to handle high sound pressure levels, as drums can produce loud and dynamic sounds. Drum microphones often have a rugged construction to withstand the physical impact of live performances or intense recording sessions. They typically come in dynamic or condenser types, with dynamic microphones being commonly used for miking kick drums and toms due to their durability, while condenser microphones are often used for overhead miking to capture the cymbals and the overall drum kit sound. Drum microphone kits often include a combination of mics tailored to different drum components for a well-rounded sound capture.
Dynamic
A dynamic microphone is a type of microphone that uses an electromagnetic principle to convert sound into an electrical signal. It consists of a diaphragm attached to a coil of wire placed within the magnetic field of a magnet. When sound waves hit the diaphragm, it causes the diaphragm to move, generating an electrical current in the coil, which is then sent as an audio signal. Dynamic microphones are known for their durability, ability to handle high sound pressure levels, and resistance to moisture, making them ideal for live sound situations and rugged environments. They are commonly used for vocals, instruments, and public speaking.

Live Microphones
A live microphone is a microphone designed for use in real-time sound amplification during events like concerts, public speaking, or theatre performances. These microphones are built for durability to withstand the physical demands of live events, often featuring cardioid or supercardioid patterns to reject unwanted noise from the sides or rear. They are typically used to capture clear and focused sound, ensuring high-quality audio for both the performer and the audience, and are chosen based on their ability to handle varying sound levels and environmental conditions.
Mic
A mic is a common abbreviation for microphone, a device that converts sound waves into electrical signals for recording or amplification. Mics come in various types and designs—such as dynamic, condenser, ribbon, and lavalier—each suited to different applications, from live performances and studio recording to broadcasting and filmmaking. Choosing the right mic is essential for capturing clear, high-quality sound tailored to the specific environment and source.
