Available to be delivered to you by post direct (some charge may apply). The team at Mic Pro think that Warm Audio nailed it with the Warm Audio WA-8000 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone.

Warm Audio pay homage to a 90's classic tube microphone with their brand new WA-8000. This tube condenser mic delivers the same top-end and mid-range quality, as well as recording clarity, at an incredible price-point compared to its vintage counterpart.

The distinct quirk of Warm Audio’s WA-8000 is the custom-design external heat sink, which lowers the self-noise of the microphone’s tube, for even better performance.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Tube condenser microphone modelled on a 90s classic
  • Omni and cardioid polar pattern
  • Custom K-67 Inspired All-Brass Capsule
  • Large-core transformer made by Lundahl
  • NOS 6AU6 vacuum tube with a custom-designed heat sink to reduce internal heating
  • custom GAC-7 7-pin cable from Gotham

True To The Legacy. True To The Sound

The WA-8000 takes all the best of its legacy and takes it one step further, thanks to Warm Audio's constant development. The microphone features a custom K-67 inspired all-brass capsule, that enables it to capture every subtle nuance of vocal and acoustic performance.

The tube is an NOS (New Old Stock) 6AU6 vacuum tube, to match the tonal character of its antecessor. The tube includes a custom-designed heat sink, that reduces the heating inside the mic. This means massive noise and distortion reduction because it keeps the optimal temperature to operate.

WA-8000's transformer is made by Lundhal in Sweden and plays a critical role in the open top that makes this mic so recognizable to the listeners.

Last but not least, the WA-8000 connects to the power supply with a custom GAC-77-Pin cable from Gotham, Switzerland. The design and build quality of this cable increases the top end presence and overall size of the recorded image in the stereo field.

The Hits You Love Become The Hits You Make

The WA-8000 is characterised by an open top end and crystal clear midrange, as well as the ability to record every nuance of acoustic performance. Despite being associated with genres like R&B, Rap and Hip-hop, this mic gives an unmistakable airy and polished sound, distinctive of many 90's records. It's ideal both for vocal performances as well as acoustic instruments ones.

Specifications:

Condenser

Condenser Microphones are highly sensitive microphones that capture sound with exceptional detail and clarity, making them ideal for studio recording of vocals, acoustic instruments, and other nuanced sources. They work by using a lightweight diaphragm and require phantom power to operate. Known for their wide frequency response and accuracy, condenser mics are a go-to choice for professional audio engineers and producers.

Diaphragm

The diaphragm in a microphone is a thin, flexible membrane that vibrates when sound waves hit it. It plays a crucial role in converting sound into an electrical signal. When sound waves strike the diaphragm, it moves in response to the variations in air pressure, and this movement is then translated into an electrical current by the microphone’s internal components. The size and material of the diaphragm can significantly impact the microphone’s sound characteristics, such as its sensitivity, frequency response, and overall sound quality. Larger diaphragms typically provide a fuller, warmer sound, while smaller diaphragms may offer a more detailed and accurate reproduction of high frequencies.
