Description

The Lauten Audio LA-220 v2 Condenser Microphone is New Delivered to all areas of the UK using our roadie delivery service.

The Lauten Audio LA-220 is a two-tone FET microphone that allows you to choose between the warmth of a classic microphone – and the clarity of a modern microphone – at the flip of a switch.

Many traditional microphones are designed to be used with expensive signal chains that most musicians and producers simply won’t have access to – with this in mind, Lauten specifically designed the LA-220 to sound great out of the box, without the need for any high-end mixing consoles or boutique microphone preamps!

Centered around a custom-made Lauten Audio capsule and hand-soldered circuit path, Lauten’s unique microphone design gives you the musical colour and gentle compression associated with classic signal chains straight into your audio interface.

Who are Lauten Audio?

Lauten Audio is a family-owned manufacturer of boutique, premium condenser microphones, designed and tested in sunny California (USA).

From the legendary Signature Series and the highly-flexible Series Black; to the hyper-rejective Synergy Series and bespoke Drum Series; each microphone combines Lauten's trademark sonics with problem-solving features for studio recording and live sound: precision-crafted capsules, unique multi-voicing, built-in high- and low-pass filters, and ultra-high dynamic range.

Lauten Audio Microphones continue to carve out a unique niche for recording engineers, musicians and podcasters seeking original, inspiring microphones with a unique sound, and have featured on records from the likes of Foo Fighters, Cardi B and Snarky Puppy.

Get your recording right first time with the LA-220’s built-in high- and low-pass filters (HP: Flat / 120 Hz, LP: Flat / 12 kHz), cutting out low-end rumble and taming harsh treble frequencies, reducing the need to apply EQ from your DAW or mixing console.

Key Features:

  • Custom Capsule:
The LA-220 utilizes the same upgraded capsule as its larger tube sibling, the LA-320. Unlike traditional capsule designs, our hand-tuned 32mm transducer naturally imparts gentle compression and balance to any sound source, making it ideal for use in an array of string, percussion, and vocal applications.
  • What’s inside really matters:
Hand-soldered with high resolution, low distortion polypropylene capacitors and resistors, a US-made ultra-low noise JFET, and a vintage-inspired output transformer.
  • Shock mount:
Shock mounts are important for helping remove those unwanted vibrations from your recordings.
