The SmartLav+ is a broadcast quality lavalier microphone that you can plug straight into the headphone/recording port of your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Using the TRRS connection offers great recording quality and ensures that you dont have any compatibility problems, no matter what iOS device you use. The lavalier design offers a discreet  recording solution that clips straight onto the clothing of the performer, and is perfect for a wide range of film, television and broadcast scenarios. The SmartLav+ takes this design to the next level, removing the need for expensive and complicated wireless systems and recording straight to your tablet or smartphone.

At the heart of the SmartLav+ is a professional quality omni-directional condensor microphone capsule with equal sensitivity all over the mic, ensuring you always get the best sound quality even in difficult miking situations. A foam pop shield is included in the kit to minimise wind noise and vocal plosives, and to protect the mic for a long and reliable life. The kit is made to be hard wearing and long lasting with a Kevlar reinforced cable and durable mounting clip with cable management

The SmartLav+ is compatible with any app that can accept input from the headphone connection, however you might want to check out Rode’s “Rode Rec” app for Apple iOS.
