The Sontronics Corona Dynamic Vocal Microphone is currently retailing at GBP 205 and it is out of stock. Available to be delivered to you by post direct (some charge may apply). The team at Mic Pro think that Sontronics nailed it with the Sontronics Corona Dynamic Vocal Microphone.

The Corona is a dynamic vocal mic with a difference. The idea for the Corona originally came about from many studio owners using the Halo guitar dynamic microphone as a vocal mic. Whilst it offered an awesome vintage style feel and a fantastic sound for guitars, the Halo isn't exactly designed for vocalists.  The Corona takes the essence of the Halo and redesigns it specifically for the voice.

To do this, Sontronics have added built-in pop filtering so that the Corona can handle the plosives of a vocal and created a new ported capsule to capture more of the low frequencies and give a thicker, richer and more rounded sound.

Dynamic

A dynamic microphone is a type of microphone that uses an electromagnetic principle to convert sound into an electrical signal. It consists of a diaphragm attached to a coil of wire placed within the magnetic field of a magnet. When sound waves hit the diaphragm, it causes the diaphragm to move, generating an electrical current in the coil, which is then sent as an audio signal. Dynamic microphones are known for their durability, ability to handle high sound pressure levels, and resistance to moisture, making them ideal for live sound situations and rugged environments. They are commonly used for vocals, instruments, and public speaking.

Microphone

A microphone is a device that captures sound and converts it into an electrical signal. It works by using a diaphragm that vibrates in response to sound waves, which are then translated into electrical impulses. Microphones are used in a wide range of applications, from recording music and broadcasting to public speaking and live performances. They come in various types, including dynamic, condenser, and ribbon microphones, each suited for different recording environments and sound qualities.
